Religious Observance

Each individual within a school community should be enabled to develop as a successful learner, confident individual, responsible citizen and effective contributor. Scottish Government guidelines highlight that religious observance should have an important part to play in this development. It should also provide opportunities for the school community to reflect on, and develop, a deeper understanding of the dignity and worth of each individual and their contribution to the school and wider communities.

At Niddrie Mill Primary School, we incorporate the following activities into our yearly calendar to provide such opportunities. These are led by Reverend Liz Henderson from Richmond Church.

New Beginnings (Aug)

Harvest assembly

Christmas Assembly (at Richmond in Dec)

New Goals (Jan)

Easter Assembly

Summer Assembly

You have the right to withdraw your child from these assemblies if you wish. If this is the case, your views will be respected and an alternative activity will be planned for your child.
